3 Ways to Tie a Sarong

Fashion designers who specialize in making these gauzy wraps walk us through their favorite beachy-chic cover-up options, from cute dresses to a flattering skirt.

The Halter Dress
by calypso st. barth

1. Hold the sarong with one corner in each hand and the top hitting level with your bustline.

2. As you wrap the ends toward you, swap corners into opposite hands, so the two sides crisscross.

3. Tie a knot in the front just above your bust to secure the sarong.

4. Bring the two ends to the back of your neck and tie them in another knot.

2. As you wrap the ends toward you, swap corners into opposite hands, so the two sides crisscross.

3. Cross the two corners in front of you as you pull the sarong tight around you.

4. Make a double knot just above your bust to secure.

The Triangle Skirt
by malia mills

1. Fold the sarong in half to make a triangle.

2. Wrap the long edge of the triangle around you so the ends meet at one side of your waist.

3. Grab the fabric several inches from each end and fold the ends in, making a loop on each side.

4. Tie the loops together in a tight double knot at your hip and let the ends of the fabric dangle.
